Coach Pickup Points and Timings

If you have indicated in your RSVP that you would like to take the coach to the Church then please make a note of the following information:

We have four pick up points from hotels in Twickenham and the coach will wait for ten minutes at each stop. We have booked two large coaches.

One:
Premier Travel Inn Kew.......................................11:30
Premier Travel Inn Twickenham Stadium..........11:55
Two:
Marriott Hotel Twickenham................................11:40
Premier Travel Inn Twickenham East.................12:00

It is very important that you are ready and waiting for the coach as the driver does not know how many he is collecting at each stop.

If you are travelling to these hotels by tube (t) or rail (r) to catch the coach then please note the following nearest stations. You might still need a short taxi ride from the station to the hotel.

Premier Travel Inn Kew.......................Gunnesbury (t) and South Ealing (t)
Premier Travel Inn Tw'ham Stadium.....Whitton (r)
Marriott Hotel Tw'ham...........................Whitton (r)
Premier Travel Inn Tw'ham East............Fulwell (r) and Hounslow Central (t)

We hope that this makes things easier for you on the morning of our wedding.

These coaches will then leave the Church after the service to go to York House for the reception.

Children - A message of appreciation

Thank you to all of our guests for understanding how difficult it has been for us to limit the invitations to our wedding celebrations.

We would have loved to invite all of the sons and daughters of our families and friends but it was an impossibility as it meant inviting another 40 children to the wedding.

We send our love to all - especially those that cannot come to our wedding because of new arrivals, we hope to see you while we are back.

Whoops!

Please do not use the postcode on your invitation to get directions to York House. The numbers have been transposed. The correct postcode is TW1 3AA

(We don't want anybody turning up at Hounslow Manor School!)

Gift List

To try to make things easier for those that would like to buy us something special for our marriage we have set up a little list. The general theme is for when we set up home together a year or so after the wedding and move back to the UK. Please don't feel constrained by the list - I'm sure that there are lots of lovely things that we haven't thought of!

We would also like to add that we are not expecting gifts and are very much looking forward to celebrating our wedding with all of our family and friends.

TAC

Chris and I have made our first TransAtlantic Crossing. We're now in Barbados with the owners onboard. There is quite a sense of achievement in taking a boat across I think. A big thanks to Tom, Lars, Seb and Ben for making the crossing as smooth as it could be. I will get some photos up when I get the chance.

So, we're in the sunny Caribbean and apparently this is where we'll be staying until at least April. We'll then make our way across to the States. When we are a little less hectic I'll post again!

Happy New Year!

After a lovely (albeit a little hectic!) Christmas Chris and I are back onboard Gaia. It was fantastic to see so many family and friends. We spent New Year in Palma and we are now prepping the yacht for her (and our) first Atlantic crossing. There are still lots of things to sort out - which is interesting given Spain's lengthy holidays over Christmas time. We have just watched the Three Kings being brought into the port on a yacht where a carnival type procession is waiting! They sure do know how to throw a fiesta!

The plan is to leave on the 15 January headed for Gibraltar, then Tenerife and then Barbados. We will then head over to USA where we will cruise up the coast. So, here's to a great two thousand and ten!

Thank You David!

Mum and Grace found a lovely dress for Grace to wear as bridesmaid while I was still out in France, but that did mean that we were left with four younger bridesmaids to sort out.

So, Mum and I have been hunting high and low to find suitable fabric to make the dresses but without success... until we visited David Misan's premises in Great Titchfield Street. There we found a beautiful fabric for the girls that complements Grace's dress beautifully. And to top it all off I was given it as a wedding present by David. Fantastic!

Home for Christmas!

Today Chris booked our flights to come home for Christmas. I will be starting onboard Gaia on 15 December in Palma but we will be flying back on the 21 December to spend Christmas with my Mum and Dad before heading up to Marsden for a few days. We then jet back off on the 30th to spend New Year in Palma.

Wedding Prep

Well, number one big hurdle has been overcome. I have got my dress (thank you Mum and Dad). And when I say I have got my dress, I actually have got it. It's on a hanger in my wardrobe (well, on the outside to be precise because it's a bit long). It fits perfectly without any adjustment and so we took it away there and then. What a perfect solution to the predicament that I will be flying out of the country next month and working abroad until the month of the wedding! I absolutely love it, and I can't wait to show it to everyone...but I will have to as it is a secret until the big day!

Location Update

I finished working onboard MY Perla Blu this month and flew home on Saturday. Meanwhile Chris was on his way to rejoin SY Gaia in Palma on tender to Gaia. Chris will be spending the winter in Palma supervising the works to be carried out on the yacht. I will be staying with Mum and Dad until just after Christmas

I will be joining Chris on Gaia around New Year to support him in his new role as Captain when our first sailing adventure together begins (teaching me to manoeuvre a yacht backwards in a river doesn't count!)

Thank you!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone that gave us a present for our engagement.

Notes of our appreciation have been popped in the post but seeing as I have sent them from France and the fact that there is a postal strike in the UK means that they might take a while to land on each doormat!

Engagement Party

I couldn’t begin this post without saying an enormous thank you to Mum and Dad for organising and hosting the celebration of our engagement this weekend. It was lovely to see such a large number of our family and friends together and we both had an amazing time. There were also a number of helpers that we would like to thank including Grace, Henry, Marian, Kath & Witty.

We both appreciate the effort that was made by everybody in order to come to the party and so another thank you to all that came to truly make it the success that it was.

I have posted the photos that I have from the party into an album on the Photos page and would love anyone else that has photos to add them by emailing them to uswiggyandsprout.guests@picasaweb.com If you put “Engagement Party” in the subject then they will be added to the same album.

Upcoming Engagement Party

In 10 days, Mum and Dad will be hosting a party to celebrate our Engagement. We are looking forward to seeing (and meeting in some cases) all of our family and friends that can make it.

Chris will have finished working on Gaia by this time and will be taking some well deserved time out. I will be back for 4 days (from late Thursday to Monday afternoon) before flying back to Nice and rejoining Perla Blu.

By the end of the weekend we might (fingers crossed) have a venue booked and a date set!

The Proposal

Katie's version:

I flew back to Gatwick on the Friday night and Chris picked me up from the airport. We hadn't seen each other for 3 months! He told me that the next day he had arranged a boat on the Thames for the day. A picnic was packed (with enough food to feed 10 at least! He knows me well...) and we picked the boat up at 9am. We were having a leisurely cruise around the river with the sun shining in the morning. We stopped by a green for lunch and as I looked up from my Pork Pie (yes, very romantic) Chris had dropped down onto one knee and had the most beautiful diamond ring in his hand. I flung my arms around his neck (nearly knocking the ring out of his hands apparently) and of course said yes. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
